Corinth Baptist Church --- Hosford, Florida

The Corinth Baptist Church project was led by the Florida COM; the project leaders were Don Ridgeway and Howard Newberry. The project started early November and we joined at the first of January. This was a start to finish project; the first one we have worked on. The only part of project that was handled by outside contractors was the HVAC and the suspended ceiling COM did the rest. When we arrived all the framing was complete with some rough in electrical and plumbing. I worked mostly on electrical wiring and hanging light fixtures with some painting and other construction tasks. The ladies worked the puppet ministry at local special needs school and nursing homes as well as at the church. Puppet ministry was led by Kathy Whigham. we got to work with some of our Alabama COM members as well as Florida and Georgia COM. The church should be able to move in to the new building by their homecoming the middle of May. I have included some pictures of the church below:

First Chistmas as Fulltimers!!

This was our first Christmas in the motor home since we went full time in March of this year. I know that I have been lax in posting new information on our blog but will try to do better in the coming year. This may be why Santa didn't leave me any presents under the tree or it may have been because the tree was so small there wasn't any room? Just kidding we had a great Christmas with our family and church; lots food and parties; we even got about three inches of snow on Christmas morning. We have cleared all the furniture and personal stuff out of our town house and we are now trying to lease it since we have not had any luck selling it; boy did we have the stuff!! We leave for our first project in Hosford,Florida on the first of January; I will post a blog about the project after we have been there for a while.

We wish everyone a "Happy and Prosper New Year"

Ocanside Community Church

Updated pictures of the first church project we worked with Alabama Campers on Mission. We were fortunate enough to be here on Easter Sunday; this is the first time we had seen the completed church. Our work group donated 3 of the stain windows in the sanctuary and as you can see they are beautiful!

Shiloh Baptist Church

Out last project was at Shiloh Baptist Church located in Hartford, Al. Shiloh Baptist is a growing church and filled with the Spirit and has lots of young people in it. This was a great project; we had a large group working and the church was so supportive and thankful for us being there. We hung lots of drywall and built some wood stud walls; some of the drywall hanging was difficult because of the weight of the 12 foot long sheets and the height it was hung at. The church fed us dinner every evening and it was great; I think we all put on weight.

On The Road to Hartford, Al. Project

We are on our way to our first Campers on Mission project for the year. We will be helping to build a new sanctuary for Shiloh Baptist Church located in Hartford, Alabama. When we left home our house was put on the market so as soon as it sells we will be "Full-timers". We will be on the road till we get the call that house has sold then we will have to go back to Madison, Al and deal with that. Will be posting a little more often now.

Bump In The Road

Well we are supposed to be on a project with Campers on Missions in Clayton, Alabama starting today but God had other plans for us. My wife Nancy had to have surgery which put a delay in our start for this year; praise the LORD everything went well and she is on her way to recovering. The older I get the more I realize that everything happens for a reason; it just happened that our motor home needed some repairs to the chassis at factory in Michigan. The good folks at Spartan Chassis came and picked it up and will be delivering it back to us later this week. We should be on our next project starting the first of March in Hartford, Alabama we will be helping to build a new church there. We had so much support from our church Mount Zion Baptist and our Alabama Campers on Missions. The thoughts and the prayers sustained us during the uncertain time and for that we will be forever grateful.

GOD is GOOD!! Always
